US Drones: Current Outrage /Stats/ Analysis

How startling to realize that these concerns are just now beginning to emerge as a nation-wide discussion!

First for background go to this Pakistani writer on March 28 2012 DemocracyNow! dot org
Pakistani journalist Ahmed Rashid, whose new book details clandestine talks between the U.S. and the Taliban, the Obama administration’s expanded use of drones and the accompanying rise in civilian deaths, and how more "physical harm is now coming to journalists" who are detained by Pakistan’s intelligence agency. Rashid’s latest book is titled Pakistan on the Brink: The Future of America, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

The Bureau Investigates dot com GO here (  This site has plenty of both stats and analysis & have done an amazing job of keeping track of the history which goes quite a ways back. )

Salon.com See Currant journalism by Glenn Greenwald and others. GO here  -- Be sure to keep checking back for more analysis by Glenn Greenwald on salon.com -- along with a skim of his readers' comments.  (His analysis goes back quite a few posts and updates.)

Just yesterday, a suggested US Citizens Petition gets plenty of comments on Huff Post  -- HOWEVER, we must be as concerned about our fellow earth citizens NOW who are facing the hellish effects of these drones.

Obama Oversees "Kill List" of Targets in Secret Drone War -- find this report at Democracy Now!

We can make a petitionary lawsuit as powerful in concern and outrage as Noam Chomsky & Chris Hedges group did on the NDAA (They partially won and so can we on ending the "legality" of the Drone Warfare.)

Beware of Joel Rosenberg's Writings

Friends,

Please be aware of this dangerous author and warn your contacts, friends and even fellow parishioners to think more than twice before encouraging their children to read such literature as if it helped the world to be a world without hate and violence. We don't need any more empire-promoting literature or films! Joel Rosenberg has written a series of novels which sound incredibly inflaming of violence, war, hate and prejudice.

GO http://www.titletrakk.com/author-interviews/joel-rosenberg-interview.htm

We shouldn't need much more than to know that he worked for Rush Limbaugh as a research assistant and yet thousands of people in all kinds of places sound fooled indeed.

Look into his works and interviews for yourself and warn your contacts, friends and family that
this is NOT the kind of spirituality and peace Jesus taught nor are his cardboard characterizations anything like what we want our children to know of their counterparts in other lands.

“Rosenberg nails it—a provocative political thriller that reads like a major Hollywood blockbuster. . . . The Last Jihad absolutely crackles with high energy and a chilling premise – what if the war on terror goes nuclear?”
RUSH LIMBAUGH, NEW YORK TIMESBEST-SELLING AUTHOR
“Buckle up! The Last Jihad is a high-speed, heart-pounding, edge of your seat roller-coaster ride into the heart of darkness . . . feels ripped from tomorrow’s headlines . . . this stuff could really happen!”
SEAN HANNITY, RADIO HOST AND #1 NEW YORK TIMES BEST-SELLING AUTHOR
“A wild rocketing read, The Last Jihad is Tom Clancy writ large.”
VINCE FLYNN, NEW YORK TIMESBEST-SELLING AUTHOR OF CONSENT TO KILL

What kind of Christianity is this that doesn't even give Christ credit for his teachings on peace -- including in Matthew 5's Sermon on the Mount and his teachings to Peter that those who live by the sword with die by the same?  How is Rosenberg seeking to understand other folk of other lands?
What kind of people are we when we help enflame the desire in our young to join our nation's
military in order to crusade against innocent people of all ages abroad?

How often do we teach the bloody crusades in our churches and sunday schools as examples of what we DON'T ever want to repeat again?

What kind of legacy are we leaving behind?

This kind of Christianity is not for me!

What if a few peace-loving Texan followers of Christ or another faith came to this event and peacefully offered another way to those in the book-signing line: "Implosion with Joel Rosenberg -- at Houston's First Baptist Church a Saturday mid-June?  A way of peace?  A way toward a world
without hate?

OTHER ways to respond to evil...

1 Corinthians 13

The Gift of Love

If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogantor rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

( Love is always seeking original, new and effective NON-violent means)
